Celebrate International Yoga Day 2025

Celebrate International Yoga Day 2025

On June 21, join millions worldwide to honor yoga’s ancient wisdom and transformative power! Originating in India over 5,000 years ago, yoga unites body, mind, and soul. Let’s dive into its history, benefits, types, and past themes to inspire your practice!

 History of Yoga-

Yoga, meaning “union” in Sanskrit, emerged over 5,000 years ago in ancient India, rooted in the Vedas and refined by sage Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras (circa 200 BCE). It evolved from meditative practices to a global movement for holistic wellness. In 2014, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed International Yoga Day at the UN, leading to its establishment on December 11, 2014, with June 21 celebrated annually since 2015 for its alignment with the summer solstice.

 Benefits of Yoga-

Physical Health: Boosts flexibility, strength, posture, and balance; supports heart health and immunity; relieves chronic pain.

Mental Well-Being: Reduces stress, anxiety, and depression; enhances focus, memory, and sleep quality.

Spiritual Growth: Cultivates inner peace, self-awareness, and connection to the universe.

Holistic Wellness: Balances energy, improves digestion, and fosters global unity.
